Welcome to LTP!!
Our goal is to create the foundation of hockey that will allow the player to transition into the House (recreational) League.
The value of learning to play hockey goes way beyond skating and puck handling skills. Its greatest value is the role it plays in the development of character and life skills such as RESPONSIBILITY, RESPECT, INTEGRITY, PERSERVERANCE and TEAMWORK. LTP is the start of a new experience, extending further than the ice. It's about falling down and getting back up, making new friends from teammates and most of all creating memories that will last a lifetime.
Ages
LTP is designed for players between the ages of 5-12 years old.

Where
All ice times are held at the Columbus Ice Rink
Practices
Players will learn the fundamentals of the game such as skating, puck control and shooting. The emphasis is fun through hard work and skill development.
REGISTRATION STEPS
- Complete a LEARN TO SKATE CLASS
- Register with USA Hockey
- Register for your Specific Semester
- Register for an Equipment Rental if your player does not have ALL of the required Equipment.
Jerseys
Every player will receive a Jersey and Socks.
*NOTE if your player is doing multiple Semesters, they will only receive ONE Jersey and set of Socks.
Extra Costs
Every player participating is required to wear a Neck Guard through USA Hockey Rules.
Neck Guards can be purchased at the Ice Rink pro shop or online.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Semesters will my Child need to complete before they are ready for House League? Typically, players complete TWO semesters of LTP before they transition into the House League. CHA coaching staff will always be there to assist with questions regarding player advancement.
What does my child need to wear under their equipment? We recommend thin light clothing with thin, tall socks.
